  • High on Ice

  • Mina Blanca Sur Trek, Bolivia

  • The highest ice cave I’ve ever been in, and probably the largest as well, revealed itself on day 2 of the southern glacier trek in Bolivia. Exhausted after 6 hours of hard climbing to 5600 meters above sea level, we reached the cave in the early afternoon. After the initial shock caused by its sheer size, I carefully stepped inside and got some shots. This one shows my friend Gal at the cave’s entrance. You can get the scale by looking at his size compared to the cave, but believe me, it was even bigger than it seems here.
